Suggested Extrusion Conditions
Item
Parameter/Guideline
Drying
90-110°C / 3-5 hours (Mandatory and thorough to prevent hydrolysis and surface defects)
Extrusion Temperature
175 - 205 °C (Strict control. Avoid high temps which cause glossiness)
Screw Design
Gradual compression screw recommended, L/D ≥ 24:1.
Avoid high-shear designs to prevent overheating.Die & Cooling
Critical: Use a matte-finish specific die. Employ gentle, slow water cooling or low-temp air cooling – key to achieving a consistent matte finish.
Critical Precautions
1. Drying is Essential: Moisture causes melt degradation, bubbles, surface roughness (orange peel), and property loss.
2. Screw & Shear: Avoid high-shear screws. Excessive shear heat destroys the matte effect.
3. Cooling is Crucial: Gentle, slow cooling is mandatory. Rapid quenching or high water temperature can cause uneven gloss (spotty shine).Purge Suggestion
When shutting down or changing material, purge thoroughly using TPU-specific purge compound or ABS at the lower end of the set temperature range. Do NOT use PP or PE (incompatible with TPU).
