Product Name
TPU Flame-retardant Grade Material
Product Description
A thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer that meets stringent fire safety standards.
Key Characteristics
1. Excellent Flame Retardancy: Typically achieves UL94 V-0 rating (at specific thicknesses), self-extinguishing.
2. Eco-friendly & Safe: Mainstream products are Halogen-Free Flame Retardant (HFFR), featuring low smoke, low toxicity, and low corrosive gas emission upon combustion.Main Applications
Mining cable jackets, rolling stock cables, high-end electronics cables (e.g., for robotics), industrial tubing requiring flame retardancy, safety equipment components, aerospace interior parts.
Processing Methods
Extrusion (cables, tubes), Injection Molding (components).
Environmental & Safety Certs.
UL94 (V-0, V-2, etc.), ROHS, REACH, Halogen-free (Cl, Br < 1500ppm), complies with specific industry standards like IEC 60332, EN 45545-2 (railway).
Color
Black, orange, or other standard colors. Customizable (limited by flame retardant color).
Storage Conditions
Strictly moisture-proof. Store sealed in a dry environment (<30°C).
Packaging
25/20 kg/bag

Item
Parameter/Guideline
Drying
100-120°C / 4-6 hours (Absolutely mandatory, use a dehumidifying dryer)
Melt Temperature
185 - 215 °C (Strictly avoid excessive temperature to prevent flame retardant decomposition)
Mold/Die Temperature
30 - 60 °C
Recommendation
Use low-shear screws; minimize melt residence time in the barrel.
Critical Precautions
1. Temperature Sensitivity: Narrow processing window. Strictly avoid over-temperature, which deactivates flame retardants and may generate corrosive gases.
2. Equipment & Mold Protection: For long-term production, consider anti-corrosion treatment for screws, barrels, and mold cavities, or use corrosion-resistant materials.Purge Suggestion
After production, immediately purge thoroughly with ABS or HIPS at a reduced temperature (e.g., first lower to 180°C). Do NOT use PP or PE. Purge until extruded strands have no irritating odor.
