    Description

    Product Name

    TPE 50-Degree Material (Approx. Shore A 50)

    Product Description

A versatile thermoplastic elastomer with a hardness of approximately Shore A 50, offering an excellent balance between soft touch and structural support.

    Key Characteristics

    1. Moderate Hardness, Comfortable Feel: Provides a flexible and resilient hand feel with decent load-bearing capacity.
    2. Balanced Mechanical Properties: Good tensile strength, elongation, and tear strength.
    3. Excellent Anti-slip and Cushioning Properties: Moderate surface friction with good shock absorption.

    Main Applications

Tool handles (screwdrivers, pliers), sports equipment grips, automotive interior parts (gear shift covers, buttons), electronic protective cases and gaskets, consumer goods (toothbrush handles, razor grips), sealing strips, cushioning pads, casters, various overmolded products (bonded to PP, ABS, PC, etc.).

    Processing Methods

Injection Molding (most common), Extrusion Molding, Blow Molding.

    Environmental Certifications

ROHS, REACH, PAHS, Phthalate Free. Specific certified grades (e.g., UL, FDA) available upon request.

    Color

Available in black, white, and various standard colors. Excellent colorability with vibrant and stable colors.

    Odor

    Slight or none.

    Appearance

    Uniformly colored cylindrical pellets.

    Storage Conditions

Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place. Avoid direct sunlight. Recommended shelf life: 12 months.

    Critical Precautions

    1. Overmolding Application: For two-shot overmolding onto rigid substrates (e.g., PP, ABS), ensure the use of a bonding grade compatible with the specific substrate. The substrate surface must be clean and at an appropriate temperature.
    2. Shrinkage: TPE typically has higher shrinkage than rigid plastics. This must be fully considered in mold design (typical range: 1.5%-3.0%).
    3. Flowability: Although flow is good, gate and runner design should still be optimized for filling complex thin-walled parts.

    Purge Suggestion

Routine purging with PP or HDPE is sufficient. When switching from a higher-temperature material, reduce the temperature to this material's processing range before purging.
